Our nursery is located on the farm where our family has lived and worked for over 120 years. Only miles from the Lumber River, the farm and nursery sit within the Lumber River Basin, on the edge of the Sandhills region of North Carolina. The Lumber River, one of NC's largest blackwater rivers, is the only NC blackwater river to be federally recognized as a National Wild and Scenic River. It was also recently named one of NC's Top Ten Natural Wonders. Our love of nature and desire to preserve/restore natural treasures like the Lumber River is what inspired us to grow native plants and hence Lumber River Native Plants was born.
